Statehood Quarters - A Big Deal!

Quarters are a coin that can be a great start to any collection. The quarter is easily accessible and has been in circulation since 1796. The mintage of the quarter was extremely low back in the 1700's and the demand for this coin was minimal. Recently that has all changed.

The largest undertaking for Quarters started in 1999 with the Statehood Program. This special program will last 10 years allowing the US to mint a unique quarter for each State in the USA. The 50 States program can be credited for creating an interest in coin collecting unlike anything in the history of coins. More collectors have started because of this unique program. A complete set for this program will not happen until 2008 when the US will mint the final 5 states.
